Why I love Motrin even more than Tylenol

Anya started running a fever this morning, kind of out of nowhere. She was cranky and tired, and though the Tylenol I gave her helped her enough to let her fall asleep, it didn’t appear to bring her fever down at all. This evening her fever spiked up to 102 degrees under the arm, and she seemed to be having difficulty swallowing. She was inconsolable (So sad – she kept telling me, “Anya crying!”). She also was drooling like a faucet, and she’s not a drooler. A phone call to the doctor resulted in a potential diagnosis of Coxsackievirus/Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease and directions to give Anya Children’s Motrin.

Well, let me tell you, in the course of about 20 minutes, Motrin turned Anya from a screaming, drooling, exhausted banshee into this lovely, energetic, hungry little toddler:

Motrin, you and I are best friends.

I had hoped to post Anya’s 19 months update today, but it didn’t work out – she needed her mommy’s full attention. Since it looks like I’ll need to call out of work tomorrow to stay home with her, perhaps Motrin and I can team up again and I’ll find some time to put it together. For now, I’m off to bed, perhaps with a little Motrin for myself 😉
